Notd: Perfect Nude

I'm not even gonna bother trying to make excuses for my lack of posts. It's been a hectic period, still is, especially now that I started an internship as well. Eh, I'm hoping everything will flow nicely in about a month or so.
But look at me, making excuses xD

Moving on to more interesting things, I wanna show you my latest obsession: a nude Ciate nail polish that came with the Marie Claire magazine. ^^ Yay for freebies, especially when they are really good products.

What I'm most impressed about is the fact that it's not a sample, but a full size product, which normally would cost £9. The Marie Claire September issue was only £3.99. Bargain!

It came in 2 shades, a lovely purple and this perfect nude. The one I got is My Fair Lady, and I'm currently obsessed with it. I can honestly say this is the best nude nail polish I've tried so far, as far as the shade goes. And how cute is that packaging? ^^

Ain't it gorgeous? For my skin color, which is very pale, it's the perfect match. You almost can't even tell that I'm wearing a nail polish and not just a simple top coat.

It stayed on the nails pretty nicely, and I didn't even have to use a clear coat over it. The only minor downfall is the fact that it's kinda sheer, I had to put on 3 layers to give it this opaque look.

Still, I love it. Too bad it's so expensive and I won't purchase it anytime soon. It will definitely be missed when I run out.

Another thing I got with the magazine is a pretty generous sample of the new Dove Intensive Repair conditioner. There are two new conditioners, I got the Instant Deep Nourishment one. I doubt they can be found in Romania right now, but I think it's something to look out for, because they're pretty amazing. Well, at least the one I tried is. I normally don't care for conditioners, and I tend to use a hair mask every time I wash my hair, because, the way I see it, a conditioner is for detangling purposes only, while the mask does the same thing and nourishes the hair at the same time. But I must confess, after using this conditioner, my hair actually felt hydrated from the inside, if that makes sense, without feeling heavy or greasy, or flat.

I'm pretty sure I'm going to go out and get the full size product these days, because as far as conditioners go, this is one of the best I tried so far. ^^

My very first UK haul ^^

Hey hey!
I know it's been a while since my last post, but we've been busy trying to find a place to rent. And we did ^^. We're moving in on Monday, so until then, we're staying at our friend's house.

But enough about that. Let me show you what I got in Boots :D

I know it's a mini haul, but the truth is I can't afford much right now, and I don't really need anything in particular either, since I stocked up before I left home.

First comes the product I was most excited about, the Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover (£6.38). I used it only once, but honestly, I think my expectations were too high. I mean it's an okay product, it does its job, but I'm not in love with it. I think I'm gonna try to find another one after I'm finished with it, just to see how other products work. 

Vaseline!! I've been dreaming about this line for a while now. 

I got the Lip Therapy Rosy Lips for £1.99. I must say, I'm really liking it. It has a subtle rose smell (and taste too ^.^), it feels very light on the lips, it's non sticky and it's really hydrating. And at 20g a pot, I think I'm gonna have it for a long time, since you don't need to use too much.

Now this is a product I actually needed, since my Flormar one sucks. First off, its pretty cheap (£4.19) and I quite like it. It covers up dark circles and blemishes nicely, not great, but definitely worth the price. I got it in the shade 02, Light, but I think I should have gone for the first shade (yes, I am that pale). Oh well, it's still usable :).

Now this I got just out of pure curiosity. I've seen so many girls on Youtube using it, and I had to see what all the fuss was about. Honestly, I don't really need a dry shampoo, since I'm washing my hair every 2 days so it doesn't really get the chance to become oily, but I thought it would give some much needed volume to my second day hair. I know I could just use hairspray, but I wanted to see if this has kind of the same effect, since the girl in the ad had a lot of volume after using it. 

I got the travel size, just in case I don't like it, and it was on sale for only £1. Didn't really get the chance to use it, so I don't know if it's any good. I'll keep you posted on that. 

So this was it. 

Since it was my first time in a Boots store, I must say I'm really impressed. Everything is in order, and there's always a member of the staff available if you have any questions. Actually, this is the way things work in pretty much every store around here. People are very nice and polite, willing to help you without making you feel uncomfortable. It may sound funny that I'm impressed about something that is so common, but back home in Romania, people are very different and the service everywhere is pretty bad. They always manage to make you feel awkward about having the nerve to bother them, meanwhile here they're grateful for having you as a client. 

Oh well, this completes my ramble. I'm going to try to post as often as I can, but since I'm in the process of moving and all, while still getting to know the city, you'll just have to bear with me for a little longer.

Wish list

Hey from London! ^^

Now that we're here, I think it's only fair that I should post my wish list....because I've been dreaming about some of the products that can be found here for a while now. I'm so excited ^^

First off, the Sally Hansen Gel Cuticle Remover :D. I wanted the Instant Cuticle Remover, but I couldn't find it on their uk website at the product listing so I'm guessing it's not available here. O well, I think this would work just fine.

I've heard so many great things about this concealer from girls on Youtube, I just knew I had to have it as soon as I got here. I think it's the product I'm most excited about :D.

Now that I won't be able to get my Farmec one, I need to find a new eye makeup remover, and this one can be found in any Boots store across the Uk. Also, I did see some good reviews on it, and for 3 pounds, why not try it?

Of course I had to include a Vaseline product on my list! I thought I'd start off with a lip product and work my way up from there :D. I'm really excited about this one as well.

 

The whole Uk beauty blogosphere is raving about this cleanser and I must admit I really want to try it. Maybe not now because I don't think I can afford it, but later on it's gonna be on the top of my list!

Another miracle product that people love :D. It's supposed to give you perfect looking legs and I'm very curious about the outcome. You can read more about it here.

This is my list so far. Of course I want more things but these are the ones I can think of right now. 

I'm also going to try and find a nice pair of brogues and maybe add some Soap & Glory products to my list as well. 

Well, time for me to go out and explore the city.

Fun accessories: part 2

Am revenit cu partea a doua din fun accessories, in care va voi arata brosele mele :D

Majoritatea au fost primite cadou because everybody knows I'm a kid and I like stuff like this ^^

Starting with the Hello Kitty stuff, ambele brose au fost primite cadou. Cea mare e un pic accidentata, it's missing a moustache :P. Nu-i nimic, it gives it more character.

 

This little fellow a fost candva un breloc de la BamBoo. Acum e multifunctional...il pot pune pe un lantisor mai lung, sau il pot folosi ca si brosa ^^

I loooove this space invader! E o creatie Carla Szabo, insa e dintr-o colectie mai veche, nu stiu daca se mai gaseste...oricum, she has some cool stuff for sale, merita vazut. 

Another present ^^. Tot ce stiu despre el este ca a fost luat din Bucuresti. But it's soo cute!

Inca o brosa din Bucuresti. It's a leather bunny!! This guy sta pe paltonul de iarna and brings joy to everyone :D

Nici nu mai e nevoie sa spun de unde e brosa :D. Again, n-am idee cine a facut-o, most of these things se gasesc la targuri de bijuterii hand made. 

This year's birthday present ^^. I-am facut loc pe o gentuta mica din piele pe care o port tot timpul. Materialul e un pic ciudat though, pentru ca e cam lipicios si se prind tot felul de scame de ea. O well, I still love it. 

Aaaaaand I saved the best for last :D. Preferatele mele sunt brosele crosetate, cea mai purtata fiind floricica ^^. Toate trei sunt facute de sora mea, pe blogul ei puteti vedea mai multe chestii interesante :D Go check it out people!

These are my fun accessories, most of them hand made things. Am decis sa vi le arat in 2 parti pentru ca sunt prea multe poze, asa ca maine va fi postarea cu brose, iar restul le veti vedea acum.

I know you're excited, so let's begin.

De cand n-ai mai purtat o coronita? Confess! Well, nici eu nu prea le port :-"

Anul trecut am fost blonda si imi placea cum imi sta cu ele. Acum not so much. Don't know why. 

Pe cea cu floare am luat-o de la un targ de hand made stuff, cu 10 lei parca, iar celelalte doua au fost luate de la Bershka, impreuna la 15 lei.

Next up, o bratara crosetata, made by my sister. Check out her blog for very cool hand made things. ^^

This is kind of special for me, pentru ca a fost o supriza placuta for my "wedding" day [ spun "wedding" pentru ca a fost doar starea civila and a little party, dar asta e alta poveste :P ].  Sora mea a crosetat 4 bratari identice, pentru ca suntem 4 surori in familie, iar la nunta am avut matching bracelets ^^

"Colierul" asta il am din copilarie. Cred ca aveam in jur de 12 ani cand l-am primit de la o vecina si l-am pastrat. Sta la baza gatului si arata very hippie-ish. I still love it.

Chestia asta este o oglinda de buzunar ^^. Am cumparat-o acum cativa ani de pe Ebay. N-am idee de la ce seller, pentru ca au trecut in jur de 4 ani de atunci, insa daca va intereseaza, am gasit cateva modele dragute aici si aici. N-am avut rabdare sa caut prea mult, dar se gasesc si altele, poate si mai nice. :)

These earrings are hand made of course si i-am primit cadou de la o prietena. How cute are they? ^^

Last but not least, more earrings :D. Cei roz au fost cumparati din Bucuresti, nu mai tin minte de unde, I was a tourist :P, iar intre timp am si pierdut unul din ei.

Nail of the day: bright coral + ramble

Everybody loves coral ^^

Am fost ieri in Carrefour, iar la standul de cosmetice erau cateva cosulete cu produse la reducere...of course I couldn't resist :P. Plecasem de acasa cu gandul sa imi cumpar o oja coral, pe cea de la Maybelline Mini Colorama, in nuanta Urban Coral.....am gasit-o, era ultima, iar nuanta era aproape identica cu cea pe care o am pe unghii, si anume Alix Avien, nr 215. Am ramas la asta din simplul motiv ca era mai mare cantitatea de oja, plus ca are si o usoara tenta de pastel.

I love it ^^  

In realitate nu este atat de bright, ci mai degraba un coral pastelat un pic mai cuminte, insa depinde de lumina la care este expusa.

Dupa cum se observa, nuanta este 215, iar oja era redusa de la 14 lei si un pic, la 7 lei si un pic, basically 50% off :D.

Mai erau cateva oje amazing, una tot de la Alix Avien cu glitter, la 7 lei si un pic [ooomg, I loooved it]....alta era nuanta perfecta de taupe de la Bourjois, redusa la 10 lei...iar ojele Rimmel London erau 2 la pret de 1, la 8 lei si ceva parca [in the most lovely mint green ^^] .....insa m-am abtinut de la cumparaturi pentru ca incerc sa strang banii pentru saptamana viitoare and all the days to come ^^. But if you have some money left from the august sales, go check them out  :D.

Aaaaand now comes my ramble part :P

Ce se intampla saptamana viitoare, you ask? Well, plec din tara :D .. de tot *fingers crossed*. :P

We're moving to London, to start a new life there, asa ca nu are rost sa ma apuc de cumparaturi aici. In primul rand, incerc sa nu inghesui prea multe lucruri inutile in bagaj, and second of all, gasesc acolo tot ce-mi trebuie, asa ca nu ma grabesc sa imi fac provizii :P 

De aici vine si intarzierea cu postarile. I try to do my best, dar am avut si inca mai am de umblat prin atatea locuri, ca sa pot rezolva cu acte, analize medicale, dentist, etc. So I'm hoping this will do for a little while. 

Also, sper sa nu va deranjeze prea mult, insa incepand cu data de 13, cand voi ajunge in Londra, voi scrie postarile in engleza. M-am tot gandit la posibilitatea de a scrie in romana + engleza, insa nu stiu daca are rost.

After all, sunt abia la inceput cu blogul, nu am prea multe persoane care ma urmaresc, prin urmare, nu cred ca dezamagesc multa lume daca renunt la a scrie in romana. In plus, cred ca toata lumea stie limba engleza macar cat sa citeasca un post pe blog, and I guess it's gonna help me improve my English skills. So I kinda need the practice.

Palmer's Natural Bronze Body Lotion

 My very first self tanner :)

N-am mai incercat pana acum lotiuni autobronzante, asa ca am zis sa incep cu un produs fool-proof si anume o lotiune de corp ce ofera un bronz treptat. Dupa zeci de reviewuri urmarite, m-am decis asupra lotunii de la Palmer's, deoarece toata lumea o lauda.

Well....o fi el produs fool-proof, dar la mine tot un mare FAIL a fost. Probabil din partea mea si nu a lotiunii, dar cert e ca mie imi e frica s-o mai folosesc :P

 Ambalajul imi place, pompita e foarte practica, dozeaza o cantitate suficienta de produs, cat sa nu fie prea mult. Ca miros, toata lumea lauda lotiunea, spunand ca nu are acel miros specific al autobronzantelor [biscuiti si vanilie], ci mai degraba ar mirosi a cacao. Chiar daca nu am folosit autobronzante pana acum, mie tot a vanilie si biscuiti imi miroase; sotul meu spune ca miroase a prajituri :), o well, oricum e un miros placut, dulce, pe mine nu ma deranjeaza deloc.

Lotiunea este de o culoare alba laptoasa si e foarte hidratanta. Intra usor in piele, e destul de usor de aplicat. Desi multi au spus ca necesita in jur de 2 aplicari pana sa apara o culoare pe piele, eu am observat o diferenta de la prima aplicare, cand s-a vazut clar ce zone am omis :)). Bronzul e frumos, destul de natural, insa trebuie facut un dus inainte de a iesi din casa, deoarece pateaza hainele. Este de preferat sa fie aplicata seara, ca sa aiba timp sa actioneze pana la dusul de dimineata :)
Bronzul se duce treptat, fara pete evidente, dupa cateva zile.
All in all, e o lotiune buna, hidrateaza si ofera un bronz frumos, inteleg de ce o recomanda atata lume. Eu am gasit-o pe zenit.ro la pretul de 41 lei. 

So what's my problem then? :)) Well, nu stiu cum s-a intamplat, dar pe brate am ramas cu pete urate dupa aplicare. I looked dirty, de parca nu ma spalasem cu saptamanile.
In teorie, stiu ce trebuie facut inainte de autobronzant. Shower and exfoliate, eventual un pic de crema pe zonele mai uscate [coate, genunchi]. Lotiunea am aplicat-o uniform, asa ca nu asta era problema.
A doua oara am fost mult mai atenta la aplicare. M-am asigurat ca lotiunea intra bine in piele , mai ales in zona bratelor, unde fusesera petele. Dupa aprox 2 ore, cand bronzul incepea sa apara, totul era uniform si frumos. Dupa dus insa, aceleasi pete urate, mai mari acum, erau prezente. A durat aproape o saptamana sa scap de ele, desi imi exfoliam pielea la fiecare dus si insistam pana eram rosie. It was a nightmare.
De atunci n-am mai folosit-o. As vrea, dar mi-e cam frica :P Voi ce spuneti? Am gresit undeva cu aplicarea? Pe restul corpului am avut un bronz uniform si am avut grija sa folosesc exact aceeasi cantitate peste tot.

Eu m-am cam resemnat si am decis sa raman fara bronz. Totusi am vazut un review pe blogul Aurorei pentru lotiunea autobronzanta de la Alverde. Merita citit, m-a pus pe ganduri; as vrea s-o incerc, dar in Iasi nu este DM. O well, maybe some day.

On another note, abia astept sa vina toamna. I hate summer :P

Cheap is good

Nu intotdeauna produsele cele mai scumpe sunt si cele mai bune.
Today I'm gonna show you my top 3 cheap buys ^^; pentru ca uneori mi se pare stupid sa dai banii pe niste chestii care nu merita :) si prefer sa ii investesc in altceva.

Primele 2 sunt produse comercializate sub marca proprie a magazinelor Kaufland, prin urmare le gasiti numai acolo, iar al treilea este un produs de makeup, care se gaseste relativ usor :)

First place goes to :  

My number one cheap product: dischetele demachiante Caterine :D. Why, you ask? Well, eu sunt un pic pretentioasa cand vine vorba de cotton pads, pentru ca nu imi plac cele care se destrama usor si care lasa mii de scame.

Cele de la Caterine au o margine presata, astfel incat nu exista riscul sa imi intre in ochi acele scame atunci cand ma demachiez. [folosesc cotton pads doar la demachierea ochilor, pentru fata am bureteii de celuloza pura de la Martini Spa]. Plus ca de cand le-am descoperit, nu mi-as putea imagina sa mai dau vreodata 5-6 lei pe un pachet de dischete, cand acestea isi fac treaba excelent si costa doar 1,90!!! :D Yep, 1,90 :P Go buy them people ^^ 

Second place:

Number two cheap product: dizolvantul de unghii Blanchette B. 

Inainte sa il descopar, il foloseam pe cel de la Oversa si eram multumita de el. Dar dizolvantul Blanchette este imens, are 200 ml, costa 3,7 lei, actioneaza exact la fel si nici nu contine acetona. Mirosul e cam puternic, insa la fel era si celalalt. I don't mind. 

Third place:

Finally, third place goes to: Miss Sporty Fabulous Lash Waterproof Mascara :D. Se gaseste si in formula normala, nu numai waterproof. Este un rimel bun, I love the formula, not so much the brush. Si nu pentru ca nu ar fi buna, ci pentru ca separa genele, iar mie imi plac rimelurile pentru volum. Dar aplic 2 straturi ca sa incarc genele un pic and I'm good. Cred ca am sa il incerc cu peria de la L'oreal Voluminous, sa vad ce efect are ^^.

In orice caz, pentru teenagers sau beginners e un rimel perfect, pentru ca da un look mai natural genelor, iar pretul e budget friendly: 11 lei :D woop!

So here they are, sper sa le incercati, cel putin primele 2 produse, pentru ca mi se pare inutil sa irositi banii pe ceva mai scump cand ele isi fac treaba foarte bine. In ceea ce priveste rimelul, depinde de gusturile fiecaruia, pentru ca nu toti ne dorim acelasi finish de la un rimel.
